During this hands-on workshop, participants will create small vessel forms using kraft paper, thread, and simple, tactile materials—each one contributing to a shared exploration of movement, memory, and place.
Participants are invited to contribute their vessel to the growing Fleet of Passage—a traveling, community-built installation shown in galleries and public spaces. Each contribution becomes part of a larger collective artwork and is documented on the Fleet of Passage website, where it remains as part of the project in perpetuity.
Through a guided, process-based approach, participants will slow down, reflect, and create in a supportive, welcoming environment. Materials are intentionally minimal, encouraging focus on meaning, gesture, and form.
Net proceeds will be donated to Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island to support immigrants and refugees in our community.
No prior art experience needed.
All are welcome.
